About
Dinghao is a Recognised (Visiting) PhD Student in the Health Data Science and Intelligence (HDSci) Lab at the University of Oxford. He is also a PhD student in Computer Science and Technology at Dalian University of Technology.
His research focuses on natural language processing (NLP) and information extraction, with particular interests in document-level relation extraction and large language models (LLMs). During his PhD, he has explored few-shot learning, prototype learning, meta-learning, structural reasoning, and contrastive learning to improve information extraction models.
He has also explored multimodal information extraction with large vision-language models (LVLMs), including reinforcement learning and preference optimisation for joint entity and relation extraction. His work has been published in conferences and journals in NLP and AI.
At Oxford, his research will focus on developing robust and generalisable information extraction methods for diverse clinical scenarios, with a particular interest in applying LLMs to the liver disease domain and extracting clinically meaningful information from complex healthcare records.
Before starting his PhD research, Dinghao completed two algorithm internships at ByteDance. In the Douyin E-commerce team, he worked on NLP-based merchant matching, creator profiling, and recommendation algorithms. He later joined the TikTok LIVE team, where he worked on recommendation algorithms, user-interest-based retrieval, and debugging tools for large-scale recommendation systems.
Research Interests
Dinghao’s research interests include natural language processing, information extraction, large language models, few-shot learning, reinforcement learning, and biomedical AI.
