About
Dr Tina Wang is a Principal Investigator at the University of Oxford, where she leads the Healthcare Data Science and Intelligence (HDSci) Lab. She is also an NIHR Advanced Fellow and serves as Senior Data Scientist for the NIHR HIC Viral Hepatitis and Liver Disease Theme.
After completing her PhD at Tsinghua University, Dr Wang joined the Barnes Group as a postdoctoral scientist. Her research lies at the intersection of healthcare data science, AI, and clinical medicine, with a particular focus on translating advanced computational methods into clinically meaningful applications.
Her work centres on the analysis of large-scale electronic health records and the development of predictive models using machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and statistical methods.
Research Interests
The HDSci Lab conducts research on the development and application of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) methods for liver disease, particularly hepatitis B and liver cancer. We apply advanced analytical approaches, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing (including large language models (LLMs)), and statistical methods, to large-scale real-world clinical data, including both structured and unstructured data. Our research aims to improve understanding of disease trajectories, predict clinical outcomes, and support data-driven approaches to patient care.
